Medical Subject Headings

Medical Subject Headings, or MeSH for short, are a way to help people find information about different medical topics. It's like a big list of words that all relate to different kinds of sicknesses, diseases, treatments, and other health stuff.

Let's say you need to find some information about the flu. You might go to a library or a website and search for "flu." But there are lots of different things that could be related to the flu – how it spreads, how long it lasts, what the symptoms are, what kinds of medicines can help, and so on.

That's where MeSH comes in. It organizes all of these different concepts into specific categories so that you can easily find the information you need. So instead of just searching for "flu," you can look for specific terms like "influenza virus," "seasonal flu," "vaccines," and so on.

MeSH is used by doctors and researchers to help them find information about different medical topics. It's a really helpful way to organize all of the complex information that's out there about health and medicine!
