Menes

Menes was a very important man who lived a long time ago in a place called ancient Egypt. He was like a king, or a pharaoh as they were called. Menes was so important because he was the very first pharaoh to unite all the different parts of Egypt into one big kingdom.

See, before Menes, Egypt was split up into lots of little parts with different rulers. They all had their own ways of doing things and sometimes they fought with each other. But Menes was really clever and he managed to bring them all together into one big happy family.

Menes did lots of really cool things as a pharaoh too. He built amazing temples and huge statues to show off how powerful he was. He also made sure people had enough food to eat by building irrigation systems to help grow crops.

Even though Menes lived a very long time ago, we still talk about him today because he was such an important figure in the history of ancient Egypt.
