ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mesh

Okay, imagine you want to play catch with your friend who lives far away, but you don't have anyone to throw the ball for you. What do you do? You can use a mesh net to throw the ball to your friend across the net.

Now imagine this with computers. Computers can talk to each other, but sometimes they need help talking to other computers that are far away. This is where a mesh network comes in.

A mesh network is like a bunch of friends playing catch with each other using a net. Each computer is like a friend, and the net is the network that helps them connect with each other even if they are far away.

So, if one computer wants to talk to another far away, they toss the message to the next computer in the mesh network, and that computer tosses it to the next and so on, until the message reaches the right computer.

Just like how playing catch with your friend is easier with the mesh net, computers can talk to each other across large distances more easily with a mesh network.
