Metacentric height

Metacentric height is a measure of how stable a boat or ship is in the water. If the ship has a high metacentric height, it means the ship will stay steady and upright in the water, even when there is lots of wave activity or when it is turned quickly. If it has a low metacentric height, the ship will be more likely to tip over.
