Metta Sutta

The Metta Sutta is a Buddhist teaching about loving-kindness. It teaches us to practice kindness and caring for all living things, no matter who they are. When we practice metta (loving-kindness) we first train ourselves to be kind to ourselves. Then, we begin to extend that same kindness to everyone we meet. We think loving thoughts and send loving words out into the world. We also practice wishing good things to happen to everyone and treat everyone with respect and acceptance. The Metta Sutta reminds us that if we are kind and loving to others, then the world will be a happier and more peaceful place.
