Microbolometer

Okay kiddo, so have you ever used a thermometer to check your body temperature when you are sick? A microbolometer is kind of like a thermometer, but it measures something different.

Have you ever seen those cool spy movies where they use a special camera to see things that are hiding in the dark? Well, a microbolometer is the part of the camera that helps it see things in the dark.

It works kind of like this: when you turn on the camera and point it at something, the microbolometer inside starts to warm up. As it warms up, it can sense heat coming off of objects in front of the camera.

The camera then turns this heat into an image on the screen, allowing you to see what's happening in the dark.

So basically, a microbolometer is a special part of a camera that helps it see heat instead of light, and it's really good at helping people see things in the dark!
