ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Microflora

Microflora are tiny living things that live in and on our bodies, kind of like germs. But instead of making us sick, they do a really important job by helping us stay healthy.

Imagine your body is like a garden, and the microflora are like the different kinds of plants and insects living in the soil. Just like how plants and bugs in the soil help each other grow, different types of microflora work together to keep your body working properly.

Some microflora help digest the food in your tummy, others help keep your skin healthy, and some even help fight off bad germs that might make you sick. There are so many little creatures in your body that it's hard to count them all!

But just like how you have to take care of your garden to make sure it grows right, you also have to take care of your body to keep your microflora happy. That means eating healthy foods, exercising, and washing your hands to avoid getting sick.

So next time you hear about microflora, just think of them like your very own garden helpers, working hard to keep you healthy and happy!
