Midwestern United States

The Midwestern United States is an area in the middle of the United States. It is sometimes called the "Heartland" because it is in the middle of the country. The Midwest includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. People in the Midwest are known for being friendly and hardworking. They are known for growing crops like corn and soybeans and raising livestock like cows and hogs. The Midwest is often seen as a place of small towns and rural life.
