Midwife

A midwife is a special helper who helps a mommy when she is having a baby. Just like when you go to the doctor when you are sick, mommies go to see a midwife when they are pregnant.

The midwife helps the mommy to get ready for the baby to come out. She checks that the baby is growing and developing inside the mommy's tummy, helps the mommy create a plan for how she wants to give birth, and supports the mommy during the birth process.

When it is time for the mommy to have the baby, the midwife helps her to push the baby out and make sure that everything is going well. She also helps the mommy to take care of the baby after it is born by giving her advice on things like feeding and sleeping.

Midwives are specially trained to help mommies have safe and healthy births. They work at hospitals, birth centers, or even come to the mommy's home to help her give birth there. They are there to make sure that both the mommy and the baby are healthy and happy.
