Mikoshi

Mikoshi is like a small portable shrine that Japanese people carry around during festivals or celebrations. It's kind of like a special house made of wood or metal, with lots of decorations on it.

People carry the mikoshi on their shoulders or use long wooden poles to lift and move it from place to place. They walk around with the mikoshi while chanting and dancing, and it's believed to bring good luck and happiness to the community.

Mikoshi is a very important part of Japanese culture and it's often seen during festivals like the Sanja Matsuri or the Gion Matsuri. It's a symbol of the community's unity and strength, and everyone works together to make sure it's taken care of and respected.
