Military order (monastic society)

Okay kiddo, let's talk about military orders in a way that you can understand. So, many many years ago, there were groups of religious men called monks who lived in big buildings called monasteries. They would spend their days praying and doing good deeds for their community.

But there were also times when there were wars and battles happening. During these times, the monks wanted to help protect their communities and fight for what they believed was right. So, they formed groups called military orders.

These military orders were like a special club of monks who were also warriors. They would train like soldiers and wear armor and weapons to protect their communities. They would also go on missions to help people who were in trouble or to fight against enemies who were causing harm.

Some examples of these military orders were the Knights Templar and the Knights Hospitaller. These groups were really good at fighting and protecting people, and they were also respected for their religious beliefs and dedication to helping others.

So, in short, military orders were groups of monks who were also warriors and who worked to protect their communities and fight for what they believed was right. They were really good at it, and people looked up to them for their bravery and dedication.
