ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mill (heraldry)

In Heraldry, a "mill" is a symbol shaped like a wheel with spokes. Think of a toy wagon wheel. This symbol often represents movement and industry. It was common in medieval times for a mill to be used for grinding flour, so the symbol is often used to represent someone who works hard and is productive. Think of a farmer who grows crops, and then takes them to the mill to turn them into flour. The wheel is turning, which represents the hard work and progress being made. This symbol can be seen on coats of arms or other emblems to represent a family, town, or organization. So, in short, a mill in Heraldry represents hard work, productivity, and progress.
