Mimouna is a very special celebration that happens after the Jewish holiday of Passover. It happens mostly in countries like Israel, Morocco and Spain, where many Jewish people live. On Mimouna, people make lots of delicious foods and have parties with their friends and family.
During Passover, Jewish people don't eat any bread or other foods made with wheat or grain. This is because in the Passover story, the Jewish people had to leave Egypt so quickly that they didn't have time to let their bread rise. So during Passover, they eat special foods like matzah instead.
But after Passover is over, people are very excited to be able to eat bread again! That's where Mimouna comes in. People spend the day baking all kinds of delicious breads and pastries, like mufletas and sfenj. They also make special toppings like honey, butter and jam for the breads.
Then friends and family get together and have big parties to celebrate the end of Passover and the beginning of Mimouna. They eat lots of yummy foods, sing and dance together. It's a very happy and special time!
