ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Minicomputer

Okay kiddo, so you know how we have big computers that we use at home or work, right? Well, there are also smaller computers that are still really powerful but not quite as big as the ones we're used to. These smaller computers are called minicomputers.

Think of it like this: if your regular computer is like a big car, a minicomputer is like a mini car. It's still fast and can get you where you need to go, but it's just not as big and takes up less space.

Minicomputers are often used in places where people need a lot of computing power, but can't fit a big computer. For example, scientists might use minicomputers to do big calculations or simulations. Minicomputers can also be used in factories or other places where people need to control machinery.

So even though they're smaller, minicomputers can do a lot of the same things that big computers can do. Plus, they're often less expensive and easier to maintain, which is important for places that use a lot of them.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
