Minimalist film is a type of movie that uses very few elements. That means there may not be a lot of dialogue in the movie, or characters and settings may not be complex or detailed. Instead, minimalist films rely heavily on visual images and music to tell their story. Often, minimalist films will have only a few characters, one big theme, and little dialogue as possible. By doing this, minimalist films focus on the story and the emotions of the characters, instead of action or plot twists.
