ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mismarking

Mismarking is when someone writes the wrong answer on a test or assignment even though they knew the correct answer was something else. Imagine you're taking a test in school and the teacher asks you what 2+2 is. You know the answer is 4, but for some reason you write down 3. That's what mismarking is! It's like making a mistake on purpose, but it's not because you don't know the answer. It can happen accidentally, or sometimes people do it because they're nervous or trying to rush through the test. It's important to always take a moment and double-check your work to make sure you're not mismarking.
