Mismarking

Mismarking is when someone writes the wrong answer on a test or assignment even though they knew the correct answer was something else. Imagine you're taking a test in school and the teacher asks you what 2+2 is. You know the answer is 4, but for some reason you write down 3. That's what mismarking is! It's like making a mistake on purpose, but it's not because you don't know the answer.
