Model theory

Model theory is a way of looking at how mathematical statements relate to each other and how they can describe how the world works. Imagine a model as a big dictionary with all the mathematical words like "+' and "=" written down. Model theory helps us figure out which statements are true, and which ones are not - so that we can be sure we are talking about the right things.
