Monad (philosophy)

A monad is an idea from the philosopher Gottfried Leibniz. He thought that everything in this world is made of one single thing, called a "monad". Monad's are like little bits of energy that make up the world. These little pieces come together to form the things we see, like people and animals and even the stars in the night sky. Leibniz thought that every single monad was connected to every other monad in the universe, and that all the monads were good or evil at the same time. It's like a giant puzzle that's put together to make the world around us.
