Mongolian cuisine

Mongolian cuisine is the yummy food that people in Mongolia eat. Mongolia is a country in Asia, and their food is different from the food you might eat at home.

One of the most famous dishes from Mongolia is something called buuz. That's a tricky word to say, so just remember it's a type of dumpling filled with meat and vegetables. When you eat buuz, you might dip it in a sauce made with soy sauce and vinegar.

Another popular dish is called khuushuur. It's a bit like a flattened dumpling, but it's fried and stuffed with minced meat and onions. It might sound like a burger, but it definitely tastes different!

Now, one thing that makes Mongolian food unique is how it's cooked. Do you know what barbecuing is? That's when you cook food on a grill outside. In Mongolia, they do something called a khorkhog which is a bit like barbecuing. They take meat, usually lamb or goat, and they cook it in a pot with hot rocks. It sounds crazy, but it works!

Mongolians also drink something called airag. It's made from fermented mare's milk. It might sound strange, but people in Mongolia really like it!

So, Mongolian cuisine is all about eating delicious dumplings, fried meat, and barbecued dishes. And when you're thirsty, you can drink some airag. Yum!
