Monoamniotic twins

Ok kiddo, so let me tell you about monoamniotic twins! Every baby starts as a tiny cell, but sometimes instead of just one baby growing, two can grow at the same time. This is called twins! Now, sometimes the twins grow in their own little separate bags, kind of like their own little rooms. But sometimes, they grow together in the same bag, like they're sharing the same room! That's what monoamniotic twins are!

Now, because they're sharing the same room, the doctors have to be really careful to make sure they stay healthy. Sometimes the babies might get tangled up in each other's cords or have trouble getting the food and oxygen they need. That's why the doctors will keep a super close eye on them and might even have the mommy stay in the hospital for extra care.

But even though it might be a little harder for the doctors and the mommy, having two little babies in one room can be pretty special too! They'll always have a buddy with them from the very beginning.
