Mosquito laser

Okay kiddo, have you ever been bitten by a mosquito before? Ouch, it can itch a lot, right? But did you know that there is a special machine that can help get rid of those pesky mosquitoes without hurting people or other animals? It's called a mosquito laser!

Here's how it works: Mosquitoes are attracted to humans (and other animals) because of the CO2 we breathe out. The laser is set up to "see" those CO2 bubbles in the air and shoots a little beam of light at them. This beam of light is very hot and concentrated, and when it touches the mosquito, it makes a tiny explosion, like a little pop. The mosquito dies right away and it can't bite anyone anymore.

The laser is really quick and accurate, so it doesn't hurt anything else around it. And it can target the mosquitos without hurting any of the other insects or animals that might be hanging around too. Isn't that cool?

Some scientists and engineers are working on making mosquito lasers even better, so that they can be used in places where mosquitoes are spreading dangerous diseases like malaria or Zika. It's like a superhero weapon, fighting off the bad guys (mosquitoes) and protecting people all at the same time!
