Moving the goalposts

Moving the goalposts means changing the criteria for success in the middle of something.
For example, if a group of kids were playing a game that they said they would keep playing until they score 10 goals, but then someone changed the rules while they were playing and said they must now score 15 goals to win, that would be an example of moving the goalposts.
