ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mukataba

Mukataba is a kind of agreement between two people. It's used in some Muslim countries, and it's a way for people to reach an agreement without going to court. For example, if two people are disagreeing about something, they can make a mukataba that explains how they can solve the problem. The mukataba usually includes a promise from each person to take certain actions, and the agreement is seen as a binding promise. If one person doesn't do what they said they would, the other person can ask a judge to make them follow through with their promise.
