ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Multisensory integration

Multisensory integration is when your brain puts together all the different things you are sensing using your eyes, ears, nose, and even touch to help you understand what's going on around you. The brain takes the information from all your senses (like seeing the color of a flower and smelling its scent, or hearing someone speaking and seeing their faces) and combines it to give you a better understanding of the world. It helps you make sense of what's happening, so you can respond and react appropriately.
