Music of immigrant communities in the United States

Have you ever heard someone singing or playing music that sounds very different from what you usually hear in your own neighborhood? That's because every culture has its own special kind of music!

When people move from their country to the United States, they bring their music with them. A group of people who move from one place to another is called an immigrant community. So, music of immigrant communities in the United States is the special kind of music that people bring from their home country when they move to America.

For example, if someone moves to the United States from Mexico, they may bring mariachi music with them. If someone comes from China, they may bring music played on instruments like the erhu or guzheng.

These different types of music are important because they help people keep a connection to their home country and culture. It's also a way for immigrants to share their culture with other people in the United States. Sometimes, people from different immigrant communities come together and make new kinds of music by combining their own styles!
