NASA Space Shuttle decision

Okay kiddo, so NASA is a really cool organization that sends people and things into space! They have a special machine they use called the space shuttle.

Now, the people who work at NASA were thinking that maybe it was time to retire the older space shuttles and start using some newer ones instead. They wanted to make sure the astronauts who rode in the shuttles were safe and also that they could do more cool things in space.

So they had a big meeting and talked about what they should do. They thought about all the good things and bad things about retiring the old shuttles and getting new ones. They also thought about how much money it would cost to get new ones and what they could do with the old ones.

In the end, they decided to retire the older shuttles and not get new ones. They did this because they wanted to focus on more important things like exploring other planets and doing research in space. Also, they figured out a way to still send people and things into space without the shuttles.

So, that's why NASA made the decision to retire the old space shuttles and not get new ones. They wanted to make sure they were doing the best things for space exploration and keeping people safe. Pretty cool, huh?
