ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nail (fastener)

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of a nail? It's a small metal thing that people use to stick things together. It's kind of like a really long and skinny needle with a flat head on one end.

So let's say you want to stick two pieces of wood together, you would hammer a nail right through both of them. When the nail goes through the wood, it kind of creates its own pathway and holds the two pieces of wood together!

Nails can also be used to hang things like pictures on the wall. You would just hammer the nail into the wall and then hang the picture on the head of the nail.

Now, nails come in all different sizes and shapes depending on what you need them for. Some are really small and thin, while others are thick and sturdy. And some have different shapes on their heads - some are round, while others are square or even star-shaped!

Overall, nails are a super important tool for construction and building things, and they're pretty cool if you ask me!
