ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

National Conference of State Legislatures

Well kiddo, the National Conference of State Legislatures is a group made up of people who work for the governments in each of the states in America. They meet together to talk about important things that affect their states and their people.

It's kind of like when your mom and dad go to a meeting with other parents and talk about how to make your school better. Except instead of parents, it's people who work for the government, and instead of just one school, they talk about things that affect all the schools in all the states.

They talk about things like laws that could help make people's lives better, like making sure that everyone has access to good healthcare or that every child has a good education. They also talk about how to work together to make sure that the different states are all doing things fairly and equally.

It might seem a bit confusing, but what's important to know is that these people are working hard to make our country a better place for everyone to live in.
