National Estuarine Research Reserve

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of a reserve? It's like a special protected area where people can go to learn about nature and try to keep it safe.

Well, a national estuarine research reserve is a very special kind of reserve that focuses on protecting and studying areas where freshwater rivers meet salty oceans, called estuaries.

In these special places, lots of different plants and animals live and grow, and they all depend on each other to survive. Scientists at the reserve study these plants and animals to learn more about how they live, and how we can help protect them.

People can also visit the reserve to learn about the estuaries and to see the animals and plants that live there. By visiting and learning about these special places, we can all help protect them and keep them safe for the future.
