Nationalist historiography

Nationalist historiography is when someone writes the history of a country or a group of people by focusing on the accomplishments of people from that group in a positive way. It often ignores anything bad that people from that group might have done and focuses only on the good. For example, a nationalist historian writing history about their own country might focus on the great things that people from their country have done and downplay or even ignore the mistakes that people from their country have made.
