Native American flute

Hey kiddo! Have you ever heard of a Native American flute? It's a special instrument that the Native American people have been playing for a looooong time. Want me to explain how it works?

Okay, so the Native American flute is made out of a long piece of wood, usually made from cedar or bamboo. If you look down the middle of the flute, you'll see a little hole where you can blow into it. When you blow into the hole, it makes a sound that's kind of like a sweet, soft whistle.

Now, here's where it gets really cool. If you put your fingers over different little holes on the outside of the flute, you can make different notes! Each hole represents a different note, and when you press down on one, it changes the sound of the flute. That's how you can play different songs with it!

Native American flutes were originally used for religious ceremonies, but today people play them for all sorts of reasons. Some people use them to make beautiful music, while others use them for calming and relaxation. So, do you want to try playing one sometime? Maybe we can find one at a store or online and you can give it a try!
