Nativity scene

A nativity scene is a special kind of decoration that people put up during Christmas time. It tells the story of baby Jesus being born in a manger in Bethlehem, which is a place in the Middle East.

The scene usually shows a little stable, which is where animals like cows, sheep, and donkeys sleep. In the middle of the stable is a small bed made out of hay, which is where baby Jesus was laid down to sleep. The bed is usually surrounded by Mary, who is Jesus' mother, and Joseph, who is like a father to him.

Other people in the scene can include shepherds, who were taking care of their sheep when they heard about Jesus' birth, and the Three Wise Men, who were very important visitors who brought gifts for the new baby. They all came to see Jesus and celebrate his birth.

Nativity scenes can be made out of different materials like wood, clay, or even paper. Some people like to create big, elaborate scenes that take up a lot of space, while others might have small ones that they can put on a table or mantel. It's a really special and meaningful way to celebrate Christmas and remember the story of Jesus' birth.
