Natural logarithm plus 1

Have you ever counted how many times you need to multiply a number by itself to get another number? This is called "logarithm" and it helps us solve math problems.

Now, the natural logarithm is a special kind of logarithm that helps us understand how things grow, like plants, animals or money. It can tell us how big something gets over time.

When we add 1 to the natural logarithm, we are basically saying "take this thing that grows constantly and add a little bit more to it". Think of it like adding a sprinkle of sugar to make cookies sweeter. By adding 1, we are changing the way the logarithm grows.

But why do we do this? Well, sometimes we use this concept in science or economics to model how things change over time. We need to understand how a thing impacts another thing and by adding or subtracting the natural logarithm, we can do that more accurately.

So, that's basically what "natural logarithm plus 1" means. We are taking a special way of counting how things grow and making it grow a bit differently to better understand how things change over time.
