Navy shower

Okay kiddo, have you ever taken a shower before? Imagine you’re taking a shower, but instead of leaving the water running the whole time, you turn it off when you don’t need it.

So first, you wet your body with the water turned on. Then, you turn it off and grab your soap or body wash. You rub the soap all over and then turn the water back on quickly just to rinse off the soap. Then, you turn off the water again to shave or wash your hair. Finally, you turn the water back on to rinse everything off your body.

This is called a Navy Shower, and it helps save water because you only have the water on when you really need it. It’s named after the Navy who does it on their ships because they need to save water because they’re out at sea for a long time. So not only is this an easy way to save water, it’s also a way to honor our brave Navy men and women!
