Near-sightedness

Near-sightedness is when your eyes can't see things far away very clearly. It's kind of like when you try to read a book from really far away, and the words look all blurry and hard to read. People who are near-sighted might have to squint or get really close to things to see them clearly.

This happens because of the way our eyes work. Inside our eyes, there is a lens that helps us see things clearly. Sometimes, this lens can be too curved or too thick, which means that it bends the light that comes into our eyes too much. This makes things look blurry and hard to see.

If you think you might be near-sighted, don't worry! Lots of people have this problem, and there are things that can help. For example, you might need glasses or contact lenses that help to correct the shape of the lens inside your eye. These special glasses or contacts can help you see things clearly, even if they are far away.
