ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Negarchy

Negarchy is like when you're playing a game and you don't want to play it anymore, but everyone else does, so you pout and try to make the game less fun for everyone else. It's a different way of saying "passive-aggressive behavior".

It's like when you're mad at someone, but instead of telling them directly, you start doing things to make their life harder or less enjoyable. For example, if your sister borrows your favorite toy without asking, you might hide it so she can't play with it anymore, instead of telling her how you feel.

In a workplace, negarchy might look like someone being uncooperative or difficult on purpose, in order to make things harder for their colleagues or boss. They might drag their feet on assignments, or argue against decisions just to be difficult.

Negarchy isn't a healthy way to deal with your feelings, because it creates tension and bad feelings between people. It's important to learn how to communicate your feelings in a clear and respectful way, so you can solve problems without hurting anyone.
