ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Net revenue

Okay, so let's say you have a lemonade stand. You work really hard to make the lemonade and sell it to people. The money you get from selling the lemonade is called revenue.

But you also have to spend some money to make the lemonade - for example, buying lemons and sugar. The amount of money you spend on making the lemonade is called expenses.

Net revenue is what you have left over after you subtract your expenses from your revenue. It's like when you get some money from your parents for doing chores, but then you have to spend some of that money on toys or candy. Net revenue is what you have left over to keep in your piggy bank.

For example, let's say you made $10 selling lemonade but you had to spend $3 on supplies. Your net revenue would be $7 ($10 - $3 = $7).

Companies also have net revenue, which is the amount they earn after subtracting their expenses. It's important for companies to have positive net revenue so they can keep growing and making more money.
