ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Netiquette

Netiquette is like having good manners but when we are communicating online. Just like we say "please" and "thank you" in person, we also need to be polite and respectful when we are talking to someone on the internet.

Some important things to remember when practicing netiquette are:

1. Be kind to others. Just because you can't see the person you're talking to, doesn't mean they aren't real.

2. Don't write in all capital letters. IT CAN BE HARD TO READ AND LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE YELLING.

3. Use proper spelling and grammar. It can be hard to understand what someone is trying to say when they write things like "u" instead of "you" or "r" instead of "are".

4. Don't use bad words or say mean things to others. It's important to remember that words can hurt, even when they are written online.

5. Keep your personal information private. Don't share your phone number, address, or any other personal information with someone you don't know online.

By following these simple guidelines, we can all be good internet citizens and help make the online world a nicer and safer place for everyone.
