Network convergence

Network convergence is when different types of networks (like a telephone network and an internet network) join together, so that they can better communicate and share information. For example, when a telephone network and the internet come together, a person can make and receive phone calls over the internet, rather than through the regular telephone network. This makes it easier and faster to make calls, because there is less complicated technology involved.
