ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Network topology

Network topology is like a map of all the computers connected in a network, like a city map. Computers are like buildings, and the way the buildings are connected and arranged on the map show the network's topology. For example, if the computers are arranged in a straight line, then the network's topology is called a "line topology". If the computers are connected in a two-dimensional map, then the network's topology is called a "map topology".
