Rhizome (philosophy)

Rhizomes are a way of thinking, set out by two French philosophers, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari.

Rhizomes are like roots under the ground, such as the roots of a tree. The roots of a tree go everywhere and, in a similar way, the rhizome way of thinking suggests that ideas, concepts and experiences are connected, even if those connections aren't always easy to see.

For example, a rhizome might help us see how our family life, school life, and friendships are all connected. Rhizomes help us to understand how things are related and how change can happen without having to go through a single leader or authority.

Rhizomes are important because they help us see the world in different ways. They can help us find new connections and take us in new directions. In this way, rhizomes can be a great way to explore the world.
