Neuroendocrinology is the study of how your brain and glands work together to control how your body works. Hormones are special chemicals made in your glands that travel through your blood and affect other parts of your body. When your brain sends a message to your glands telling them to make a hormone, your glands make that hormone and then your blood carries it to the places in your body that it needs to go. Neuroendocrinology is the study of how the brain and glands talk to each other and how those messages lead to the production of hormones that help your body work.
