ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Next-generation network

A next-generation network is a type of computer network that is much faster and more powerful than the ones used by most people today. It uses new technologies such as fiberoptic cables and powerful computers to send information quickly around the world. Instead of using old-style telephone lines, a next-generation network is like a superhighway with many lanes. This means that more data can travel on the same line at the same time, resulting in faster connections.
