ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Noach (parsha)

Noach is a person in the Bible who built a big boat, called an ark, to save himself, his family, and a bunch of animals from a great flood that God was going to send. The story goes that God was unhappy with how people were behaving on Earth, so he decided to send a flood to start over with just a few selected people and animals.

Noach was chosen by God to build the ark and prepare for the flood. He followed God's instructions and built a big boat with lots of rooms to hold animals and enough supplies for him and his family to survive on the boat for many days. He took two of every kind of animal, one male and one female, onto the ark to make sure there would be enough to start rebuilding the world when the flood was over.

The flood lasted for many days and nights, and Noach and his family stayed safe on the boat with all the animals. When the flood finally ended, they were able to leave the ark and start over on the Earth. God made a promise to Noach that he would never send a flood like that again, and he gave Noach a sign of a rainbow to remind him of that promise.

The story of Noach teaches us about following God's instructions, taking care of animals, and starting over after difficult times.
