Non-denial denial

A non-denial denial is when someone does not say directly that something is not true, but instead responds in a way that makes it sound like it's not true. For example, if someone asked you if you ate the last cookie and you said "I may have," that would be a non-denial denial. It's like you are denying the claim without actually saying that it is not true.
