ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Non-voluntary euthanasia

Non-voluntary euthanasia is when someone is given medicine or treatment to purposely end their life without their permission. This is a very serious decision to make and doctors and caregivers must be very careful. It's like when you don't want to eat your vegetables, but your mom makes you eat them anyway. But instead of vegetables, it's someone's life. This is not always allowed or legal, because it can be very difficult to know what the person really wants or if they are able to make decisions for themselves. It's important to talk to your loved ones about what they might want if they are ever very sick, so that everyone can be prepared and make the right decisions.
