ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nonwoven fabric

Nonwoven fabrics are like big blankets made out of tiny fibers that are stuck together without being woven like the fabric you use to make your favorite shirt. You know how when you rub your hands together, you create warmth from the friction? Machines do this too, but with lots and lots of little fibers, to make them stick to each other without being woven. These blankets are soft and strong and can be used for all kinds of things, like napkins, baby wipes, and even masks to keep us safe from germs. Just like the blankies we snuggle up with at night, nonwoven fabric blankets help us feel cozy and comforted, but they're also really useful in all kinds of situations where we need something soft and strong.
