The North Sea Offshore Grid is like an electric power station under the sea. It is made of really long pipes connected to large machines that look like the blades of a windmill called wind turbines. These wind turbines are special because they use the power of the wind to generate electricity. This electricity is then sent along the long pipes to the mainland (where we live). It arrives to us as electrical power in our homes. We can use this power to turn on lights, run appliances and charge our phones.
