A novelist is a person who writes really long stories that you can read like a book. They use their imagination to create interesting characters, places and events in the story. Think of it like playing pretend or telling a story to your friends, but the novelist writes it down so people all over the world can read it too. Just like how you can read your favorite storybook again and again, people also like to read novels multiple times because they are so enjoyable.
