Nuclear medicine

Nuclear medicine is a type of medical imaging which uses very small amounts of radioactive materials, also called tracers, to help doctors diagnose and treat different diseases. Tracers are injected into the body and sent to organs or tissue, where special cameras detect how much radioactivity is in the body. This information helps doctors look inside the body and see how the organs are working. Nuclear medicine can help diagnose many conditions, such as cancer and heart problems.
